Regular readers may have noticed a pattern in my last few blog posts.
On July 30th, Don’t Follow Your Investment Advisor Over the Cliff
On August 2nd, Cash This Summer May Be Your Best Bet
On August 6th, The Stock Market May Need a Summer Vacation
On August 12th, Don’t Let Small Losses Turn in to Big Losses
On August 14th, This is Not Time to be in a Good Stock Market Mood
I try to be local and timely in my blog posts. It turns out; I am much more timely than I thought!
It is time for a stock market risk management game plan. The U.S. stock markets are no longer going to wait until you take the time to set up that game plan in the future. Your game plan has to be in place now.
If you work with an investment advisor, you need to have a risk management conversation with him or her. If you manage your stock market investments on your own, it is time for one of those deep conversations with yourself.
How much risk are you willing to take now with your stock market investments?
This is not a test. This is not a drill. This is the real thing.
The last few years of your stock market gains may be at risk now. The last time the U.S. stock market declined from all-time high price levels was a historical stock market decline.
I hope that this blog post starts you thinking. I hope that if you have questions that I can answer, you take the time to comment below.
