I know that Spring in Minnesota is a very busy time. The days are warmer and longer. The distractions increase each week.

Here is a reminder that your personal finances need some of your attention now.  Specifically, your stock market investments should have a principal protection game plan in place.

Since 2009, the S&P 500 stock index has more than doubled in value. No other investment that you currently own has gone up in value over that time.

U.S. stock prices have gone up much more than the pace of the U.S. economy. Employment, wages, and housing prices are only up modestly over the last few years.

The U.S. stock markets have been the big investment winners over the last few years.  That is exactly what you need to be concerned about this Spring.

I can’t predict the future.  I have no idea where U.S. stock prices are headed.  But I have over 30 years of investment advice experience that reminds me of stock market history.

The stock market is still the best place to invest your money.  That is especially true for the money in your company 401(k) retirement plan account.

Take time now to consider where the U.S. stock markets are now.  However many years you have to invest in stocks, it is best to consider a more conservative investment approach now.
