I found a terrific article over at Money Watch regarding 401k investment advice. In the April 2009 article, the writer, “Nathan Hale” discusses the proposed rules for 401(k) Investment Advice issued by the Department of Labor. What seems to have many in the brokerage community concerned is that the “unbiased” models that are proposed seem to be favoring index funds.
You can check out that article here.
What are your thoughts? Should only index funds be permitted? Should individuals have the freedom to choose and change their investments inside their 401k account at work?
